Teachers are the backbone of our education system. They are there to help the students who want to learn and encourage the students who have a hard time with the subject matter. Teachers should not be paid based on what their students learn.
One reason for this is that not all students are up to par with the other students in the class and therefore need special help. Students who need extra help will not learn as much as the other students in the given time period. Therefore, a teacher has to take extra time to make sure that the student learns the matter.
Another reason why teachers should not get paid according to how much the students learn is because some of the students that are not motivated to learn and are the trouble makers of the class. If the student who causes trouble in the class is not ready to learn it is the responsibility of the administration to sort out the student’s problem.
The teachers that I have had to date have gone above and beyond the call of duty to make sure that I know the subject and they also helped me sort out the problems that I had with the subject.
In summary, I would like to say that teachers should be paid more than they are getting now because they do go beyond their duty to make sure a student is comfortable. Teachers also put in extra hours to help their students; taking time away from their home life and therefore should not be paid based on how much the students learn.
